5 tips for styling a bathroom

Hình ảnh
the bathroom..  aka the home of bubble baths and pampering! generally speaking i find them to be one of the smaller rooms in a house so maximising storage is key for me. when i first bought this place the original bathroom location was tiny so we extended into the garden to make it bigger. ideally i'd like to redecorate ours with floor to ceiling subway tiles and possibly new flooring but to be honest we're pretty happy with the current one so there's no huge rush!  restyling a bathroom definitely helps to keep it looking fresh, after having a huge declutter and getting in some new accessories i'm really happy with how mine's looking again. i wanted to share a few simple tips on bathroom styling in case you felt like giving yours a quick spruce up..

DIY terrarium in a jar

Hình ảnh
my love of terrariums is still going strong, they're such a cute and simply way to bring nature indoors! i tend to associate terrariums with succulents (maybe cause they're such trendy plants?) but i've seen a few recently using more traditional plants like ferns and ivy so i wanted to make another...

DIY plant stand

Hình ảnh
my favourite home accessory will always be plants, i've find they transform any space into a more welcoming and calming place to hang out. i've been searching for plant stands to display my ever growing botanical collection- i like to have greenery placed at different heights around the home and stands are a great way to raise them off the floor.

DIY mudcloth cushions

Hình ảnh
my mudcloth love affair is still going strong, after making this tote  a few months back i'd been thinking about trying another tribal inspired textile project! i have quite an extensive mud cloth wishlist on etsy but i'm loath to spend too much as i've got a few holidays coming up i need to budget for.. dang. the good news is it's super easy to DIY your own mudcloth inspired fabrics and it costs a fraction of the price- these cushions will definitely help scratch my shopping itch for the time being. i've shared the tutorial for these mega easy stamped cushions on ehow  (go peek) you can apply the technique to any plain fabrics so grab some fabric paint and get creative! are you a mudcloth fan too? back soon caroline x

floral shirt | topshop jeans | topshop bag | gucci trainers | converse gosh it's been so long since i shared an ootd. i go through phases where i really don't feel like taking outfit pictures (if i'm honest i'd rather just enjoy a day out without a camera involved!) but occasionally i get the itch to mix things up so here we go! i'm forever hunting for the 'perfect' pair of jeans this month it's  straight leg . my current faves are from topshop- i had to try on a few but i like this washed out grey pair- they're something different to my usual blues and blacks. i also nabbed this cropped floral shirt, the boxy fit and slightly long sleeves won me over. it comes in quite a few colours (i have the peach one as well but i find that creases pretty quickly- be warned!) i can't remember if i've showed you my  soho disco bag  (thank you santa!) i'm not someone who really obsesses over designer labels, most of the time i'll opt to spend my

10 documentaries to watch on netflix

Hình ảnh
it's no secret that netflix and i are bff's. as much as i love a good tv series i've always been addicted to watching documentaries. i just find real life stories ultimately more fascinating to watch (throw in a true crime story and i am there.) netflix has shown some amazing documentaries over the years so i wanted to share some of the best ones with you. be aware i'm going to miss loads out- unfortunately some of my all time faves aren't available to stream at the minute. however they are some cracking ones that are definitely worth settling down with a bag of popcorn (in your pj's with pineapple hair) to enjoy. the square.  a beautiful portrayal of the friendships between half a dozen protesters during the egyptian revolution. this film took me totally by surprise, their spirit made me laugh, the brutality made me cry. a political but very human story that i think deserves the accolades it's received. ( watch trailer ) cartel land.  i'm wholly capitiv
