pretty in pink: orly choreographed choas

Hình ảnh
I'm always on the hunt for the 'perfect' pink nail polish.. a classic go-to nail colour. I love bright bold shades on my nails especially in the summer and this orly polish I received from beauty expert  is so darn pretty!  orly choreographed chaos* £10.25 on first look I wasn't sure if I'd like this one! it has a slight shimmer finish in the bottle and I wasn't sure how it would translate on my actual nails.  fear not I was wrong aha! it's beautiful on and I LOVE the colour, a classic hot pink but just light enough to be uber feminine. the polish itself applies really well, the formula is rich and smooth. this is two coats swatched here and it dries quickly, I didn't find that it chipped easily (I think I had it on for three days in total)  I couldn't resist adding a little daisy nail art to mine to brighten up a dull afternoon, you can see the tutorial for this look over on beauty expert ! I think this will be the shade I reach for when I'm hav...

the detangling hero: tangle teezer!

Hình ảnh
do any of you guys remember this little invention?  yep.. it was the one from dragons den!! (god I love that show) I've been meaning to give it a mention for a few weeks... finally I've got round to giving you the low down on the tangle teezer  detangling brush.  I was sent it a while back from look fantastic  and I've been using it religiously since! firstly I have to say it's a strange looking brush; resembling a giant jelly bean it's not exactly sophisticated but it actually does the job.  I have long hair prone to tangling (not helped that I backcomb like a woman possessed) and I generally avoid brushing it out until I absolutely have too aha! I think that's why I like this product so much; the rubber bristles on this are different lengths and designed to flex and flick so it minimises breaking and damage to hair.  so is it a good detangler? yes and it's also as good on wet hair. I brush through my shampoo and conditioner with it in the shower and ...

bullet proof nails from red carpet queen:

I always get excited by new brands (hmmmm ...did someone say geek?) red carpet queen is a new brand to me so I wasn't sure what to expect; I was sent these awesome looking nail polishes by the hut  to test drive and I'm pretty impressed with them.  firstly I'll say they're far too much fun, the packaging is a brilliant novelty! (probably the closest I'll get to holding actual bullets- probably a good thing considering the amount of serial killer documentaries I watch!)  I've been wearing controversy for 4 days now- I'm beginning to see very small chips beginning on my right index finger & thumb but the others and my left hand remains chip free (I have a special skill for chipping polish so I'm always impressed by anything that lasts longer than 3-4 days!) they've been formulated with an extra high dose of nitrocellulose to keep them strong and long lasting so this is probably why! the colours of the polishes are really something...

orly hope and freedom nail polish collection!

Hình ảnh
another day another nail polish (or two!) as soon as I think I have every colour another collection of shades pop up to woo me, today it's a couple from orlys latest hope and freedom range I was sent by  look fantastic . created with a festival theme these are the equivalent of boho chic for your nails, I wasn't sure whether they would be bright enough for me but they are really pretty. yes, I've been swayed by feminine pastels and thoughts of summer picnics... I'm a sucker for a theme. coachella dweller  is a lovely minty green quite unlike any other colour I own! the formula is creamy (2 coats for full coverage) without being thick and easy to apply. this is a beautiful spring colour and for a green polish quite sophisticated! melodious utopia  is crazy, I love this one for the surprise element! it looks yellow on but its bursting with tiny flecks of red glitter that glow when they catch the light. I've tried snapping these in different lights but it's impossi...

O.P.I euro collection:

Hình ảnh
yep, my love affair with blue nails continues! I was sent some nail polishes by the lovely peeps at  look fantastic  and I had to share this one with you! it's a gorgeous little number from the O.P.I euro collection called can't find my Czechbook   I don't own a huge amount of O.P.I polishes but I've loved the ones I've tried in the past.  as expected it's a good formula (you only need 1-2 coats for full coverage) it has a high shine gloss finish and I've been wearing it for a few days with no chips (so far so good!)  I love the colour; bright without being garish it reminds me of vintage denim and summer skies.. sigh, hurry up summer! overall I give this collection a big thumbs up; lilac's, pinks, blues and metallic I think there's a colour for everyone (they're available  here  with free delivery if you fancy a sneaky peek!) what do you guys think? are you fans of O.P.I? caroline x

valentines nail polishes from ORLY:

Hình ảnh
a quick little review for you guys today! since it's valentines in a few days I thought I'd share a few nail polishes I was sent by look fantastic  recently.  these ORLY  polishes are from their limited edition 'I love nails' spring 2013 valentines collection and are appropriately themed in colour and name... awww! so here are some swatches from two of the range: toast the couple is a peachy nude that has a frost/pearlised finish.  I don't wear pearlised polishes so this one isn't for me but I know they're quite popular so I thought I show you how it swatched! I was surprised how much I like it once applied and the formula is nice and rich without being thick and heavy. It hasn't quite won me round to frosted nails but I have to say I don't hate it!  I used 3 coats here but I'd say 2 would be enough if you were in a hurry! monroe's red is a bright pillar box red polish! this one is my cup of tea! every girl needs a stand out va va voom red in...

hair rescue! wella SP luxe oil

Hình ảnh
back combing, skipping conditioner, regular dying, heat damage...generally not being nice to your hair? yup I'm guilty on all counts! since christmas my hair has been really dry (also full of static, rahhh!!) so I've been trying out this new  wella SP luxe oil  I was sent to see if it can work some magic on my barnet! I'm was little scared of hair oils, I just assumed they'd make my hair look really lank and greasy! I still think they will but only if you apply too much or too close to the roots. since my hair is long I just apply it towards the ends where it's driest. I like this luxe oil, it contains argan, jojoba and almond oil so you only need one small pump for each application and my hair definitely felt noticeably softer after the first use. I've been using it to tame flyaway hairs too (if I've curled my hair I run a tiny bit between my palms and use it like a smoothing serum!) I like the bottle too, it's heavy and feels quite luxurious! My favour...
