paisley nail art: getting artsy for anxiety

Hình ảnh
topshop spilled milk polish models own black nail art pen today's nail art post is a little bit different. I'm taking part in 'getting artsy for anxiety' a collaboration with molly at lyon notes and some other wonderful bloggers.. molly is raising awareness for mental health; in particular anxiety and depression. I think it's a subject that has touched most of our lives in varying forms whether through personal experience or through our wider circle of friends and family. we're each posting a nail art to reflect our personalities, I opted for a stark black and white combination at first glance a simple pairing but I added the paisley design to reflect my life; more tangled and complicated up close. the message behind the collaboration is a simple concept; be comfortable with who you are and what you've experienced, don't be afraid to speak up- you're not alone. if you'd like to be involved please pop over to molly's blog ; there's a ser...

what I wore today: I hate you tee

Hình ảnh
I wasn't intentionally trying to go monochrome with this outfit; I'm actually super keen to jump into some colour when the sun arrives (come on winter give spring a chance!) I do however love my tee! one of my christmas presents from my bf (romance isn't dead y'all) its just a simple roll sleeve logo tee that I'll be wearing all summer with some denim cut offs (god I miss being able to wear shorts and t-shirts lately!)  I did have tights on with this earlier (it's not quite warm enough to venture out without 100 denier protection!) probably a good thing since my skin is so pale now I'm considering re-acquainting myself with my old friend st tropez!  I hate you tee by tee and cake:  topshop skater skirt:  asos   backpack:  topshop chunky gold necklace: old, similar on  eBay leather cuff:  urban outfitters back soon! caroline x

what I wore: pinafore & fringe

every month there's one item I decide is completely logical/utterly necessary for me to buy; this month it was this topshop denim pini dress. at the minute I'm obsessed with 90's dungaree-esque attire & I harbour a secret love of buttons so this dress ticked a few 'I must own you' boxes. I've tried on a few versions of these pinafores but I loved the loose and slouchy fit of this one, perfect lounging attire! my love of western fringing continues too, today with this gorgeous la moda  boho messenger bag (this is my new go-to festival bag for 2013) chic yet laid back; my favourite combination!  today I've been in london working on a very exciting project that I'll share with you soon (promise!) I'm looking forward to getting home and pouring one giant bubble bath to rest my achey-breaky feet! demin pinafore dress:  topshop stripe tee: vintage similar  here summer bag: c/o  la moda  (other colours available) hat: h&m  triangle necklace: urban o...

DIY monochrome nail art!

hi guys! good week? it's been snowing here yipeee!  I decided the safest (ok, warmest) option was to stay indoors and repaint my bedroom this week; my poor old nails were a hot mess afterwards so I decided to clean them up and give them a lick of paint too.. I love the monochrome trend; I've been harbouring a crush on a black & white skater dress all month (hurry up payday!) I thought I'd paint my nails to match since I don't have the dress to twirl around in!  I wasn't sure what tribal/aztec nails would look like paired down to basics but now I'm converted. I think this is a good nail art for shorter nails as you can just remove a few rows of the pattern and they'll keep the proportions! tempted to try them? read on.. so here's what I used: and here's the steps I followed: paint a white base coat, I used two coats of  models own  snow white polish next draw horizontal stripes across the nail to create sections. if you have shorter nails draw on ...
