i adore making soap for a couple of reasons.. one it's super fun and two they make perfect gifts. when it comes to christmas i'm a big advocate of adding in some handmade presents for a more personal touch.. plus making stuff always gets me really excited for the holiday season!

DIY christmas scened candles

candles are a winter essential for me, and what better time to give them than at christmas? if you want to make your festive gifting a little more personal make your own scented candles- i guarantee it's a total winner. i've used warmer scents like orange and cinnamon as well as fresh scents like pine (..cause who doesn't love the smell of a real xmas tree?) so these are super festive smelling! pop over to ehow where i've shared the tutorial to see how simple they are to make. warning: these candles are cute stocking fillers but you'll be tempted to keep them for yourself. back soon caroline x

it's been a while since I shared some of my favourite buys & recent discoveries so I've rounded up all the things that make my heart a flutter and delivered them below! a lot have come from my recent holiday so be warned there's quite an assortment... night lights: gahhh I'm such a tourist, I literally can't resist novelty items!  these mini night/mood lamps are so cute and teeny I found them in a shop called tiger store in iceland luckily I was able to squeeze them into my hand luggage.. much to the delight of the people at airport security..  we do have tiger store branches in the uk but they don't deliver so you can't buy online.. pure torture!! I shall be making my way to one next time I get to london! postcards: it wouldn't be a holiday without the compulsory postcard haul 'when I grow up I want to be a tourist' is my new mantra.. topshop ashleigh multi buckle boots : I've been harbouring a crush on cut out boots since last winter.. ...

valentines is fast approaching, love it or hate it either way it's hard to avoid.  I'm not biggest romantic in the world; I'd opt for a take out & horror film over to a posh candlelit dinner any day but I do kinda love valentines.  this year I wanted to do a little DIY that was cheap, fun and could be given to just about anyone! so I came up with this simple heart mug that cost less than £5 to make ...pow! porcelain pens are so easy to use; I picked mine up from a local craft shop but you can get them online here  (I picked up the mug for 60p in my local wilkinson's!)  the beauty of these pens is you can wipe them off quickly if you make a mistake, it's just like drawing with felt pens. I simply drew on the hearts and left them to dry for 72 hours; after this they're safe to use in the dishwasher! (I'd probably still hand wash them myself just to be on the safe side) I think you can bake them in the oven  to set them too. what do you think? will yo...
