hat: h&m vintage levi's denim jacket* brag vintage necklace: urban outfitters dress: topshop belt: forever 21 bag: vintage watch: river island psssst don't tell anyone but I've reached the stage where I'm secretly excited to be wearing jumpers again! I seem spend the majority of each year praying for sunshine but when the chill starts to set in I get all excited about knits, layering up and dark nights with hot drinks. I'm still slightly clinging to summer though; there's no chance the 100 denier tights are making an appearance ...just yet. I'm wearing a topshop jersey dress that I picked up in the sale but it's been a little nippy so my jackets are making a reappearance! cue my excited face as I've been hunting for slightly oversized vintage denim and this one is just pretty darn perfect! (what really swung it for me was the old patches on the back and sleeves which I'm a little obsessed with) the jacket is from brag vintage who have becom...

dress: vintage (gift) belt: urban outfitters superga x rita ora high top trainers: c/o allsole hat: h&m similar here bag: topshop badges: vintage and thrifted ice cream necklace: chelsea doll I do like to have a bit of fun with my outfits... I've always had a slight obsession with collecting old badges and brooches so I decided to use a few of them to decorate one of my vintages dresses (the dress is so 80's I figured I should go with it) I think I might have been on a haribo induced sugar high when I put this outfit together. I thought it would the perfect casual outfit to wear with my new trainers from  allsole . these silver beauties are from the new rita ora collaboration with superga , she's the face of their latest campaign and these metallic high tops are just too cool for school! I can't resist anything shiny and I think they'll be perfect with some skinny jeans as autumn approaches... (they also did a collaboration with house of holland and have some tr...

what I wore: laurel wreath & vintage

it's love... of the fred perry variety. my other half had some fred perry tops... I say had as I've borrowed quite a few and 'forgotten' to return them. my fave is his cricket jumper, perfect autumnal snuggling material! I've always had a soft spot for their range, simple clean cuts with a vintage feel there's something adorably retro about the brand and it's heritage. this floral print shirt  is from their laurel wreath collection, a super sexy collaboration with fashion designer amy molyneaux of london label PPQ. vintage inspired with a modern spin I love the little details on this collection; quirky collars, silk fabrics and a snazzy (yes it appears I've just used the word snazzy) 1950's influence. I've paired it with a pair of max & co high waisted vintage shorts, I've had these for a while and have been waiting to give them an outing; I love the bright colour but I wasn't sure what to wear them with until now! my hair 'do...

DIY jewellery: how to make easy retro rings!

Hình ảnh
making rings is so incredibly easy and quick! it's also pretty darn fun so I decided to dust off my craft box and show you a favourite DIY of mine. usually when I make  rings I use old buttons or coins but I saw these novelty phone & cereal miniatures in my local craft shop I decided to give them a whirl (I love anything a bit kitsch!) you really only need three things to make these; rings blanks, glue and a centerpiece! to start with I removed the string cord from the phone and glued the receiver to the body (I used my glue gun but you can use craft glue like E6000 which is perfect for this project) simply dab glue on the flat ring blank disc and hold the phone into place until secure! that's it.. you're all done hurrah! I used the same process for the cereal boxes.. voila my rice crispie accessories are good to go! ring blanks:  available on eBay  here glue: sold  here miniature telephone  here  and cereal  here! this is such a quick project and ...

confession time...  I'm a closet phone case hoarder (especially the novelty ones!) nail art inspo! 80's abstract nails:

Hình ảnh
so this was one of those crazy experiments, a moment of madness perhaps? I have a feeling these are nail art marmite...but they've really grown on me!  my brother described them as 'keith haring meets 80's shell suit' ...which put a big smile on my face. there's a few art influences here from patrick heron to kandinsky but don't fall asleep on me just yet I promise not to bore you with history; the basic idea is really to play around with colour and have a little fun! I just painted a white base coat and then added dashes of colours over the top. be random, experiment and let the paint do the talking! I added a few zig zags, dots and lines with a black nail art pen and voila.. finished! hope you like them!  back soon! caroline x
