been a while since i've shared some links huh? sorry about that, i've missed it so here i am again! so i have a pretty chilled weekend ahead fingers crossed, thanks to a week of torrential rain (apparently the weather did not get the memo that's it's june) we're all just relieved that it's dry enough to take gabe out to play at the park and stretch our legs again. i've actually managed to remember that it's fathers day on sunday so of course i've got to panic buy (or make?) something last minute for my pops (and gah, also for james! i still find it strange buying fathers day gifts for anyone other than my dad, is this normal?) we're hoping to squeeze in some chill time catching up on tv when gabe has gone to bed in the evenings, we've fallen behind on so many series we've resorted to writing up a list of shows we've not finished to encourage us to cram them in before the next series arrives. hope you've got something nice planned ...

Spring is one of my favourite seasons, there's something so exciting about those first sunny days when it's crisp and bright and you winter is finally behind you.  Plus you're a step closer to easter and all that chocolate... what's not to love? I've teamed up with Hobbycraft  to show you how to create a spring themed terrarium. Hobbycraft have been one of my go-to places for craft supplies for years and they have a huge range of contemporary ideas for Easter crafts as well as fun projects for kids. (Sometimes if I'm a little lacking in ideas for projects I'll browse their site for new materials and nine times out of ten I'll find some inspiration!) I've made quite a few terrariums in my time but this one is a little different, I wanted to create a spring themed display that was zero maintenance and long lasting. There's one baby-free zone in our home and it's our bedroom. As Gabe grows older our little sanctuary of calm becomes even more important as it's the only place that his toys have failed to invade! Every other room in our home is full of activity, from the kitchen to the living room there's always something happening but our bedroom is our escape, our comfort and (hopefully) the place where we can catch up on some much-needed sleep! I've wanted to add some artwork above the bed as it felt like there was something missing, the vast area of white walls looked a little too bare and uninviting so it was the perfect time to partner up with Desenio for this post. There are a few things that I've found to be key when trying to create a relaxing ambiance in a room, the most important for me is to keep things relatively minimal and neutral so getting rid of any clutter is essential. if there's one wardrobe essential for me every year it's a good blazer. as someone who lives in jeans i find a blazer the quickest way to smarten up an outfit without becoming super dressy. i love the a/w blazer offerings the most, from plaid to corduroy and velvet there's just so much choice!  i've been hunting for a new blazer and  i found so many i loved online  i decided to put together this little collection  to share with you guys.. there's a mix of budgets included as i'm  always looking for a bargain but if you're looking to spend a touch more i'd definitely recommend  & other stories blazers  (swoon.)

autumn is by far my favourite time of year, i adore the dark nights and cosy atmosphere in the run up to christmas. (it's pretty much the perfect setting for having friends and family over for candlelight suppers right?) setting up our table is definitely my thing (cooking not so much!) i'm a big believer that a few finishing touches and attention to detail make a huge difference. this simple tablescape may look quite lavish but it's actually very quick to throw together.

ok so nobody warned me that having a baby makes you super ambitious.. all of a sudden i have ALL the ideas and zero time to accomplish them! i've realised that having a giant to do list and a baby don't mix, instead, i'm just aiming to find a good mum/work/life balance so setting goals is way more achievable. I thought i'd share a few simple things i'm hoping to get done this month.. go on more walks.  i love this time of year, there's something about the turning of the leaves that i find just utterly magical. gabe loves being outside too (he is super curious about pretty much anything) we tend to go for a long walk in the afternoons but this week we've been going on morning walks too and i've loved it. we stopped going out in the mornings when i was trying to get him used to sleeping in his nursery rather than napping in the pushchair or sling but a day of solid rain this weekend made me realise i want to make the most of every nice day we have left bef...

i had a long list of 'things i wanted to finish before the baby arrives' and one of the items on it was our bedroom. i knew we wouldn't have the time (or inclination) to do it later and i just wanted to freshen it up. sometimes i get bored of how a room looks and i just have to change something to make me happier! we decided to remove the gallery wall, declutter the cupboards, take away our old bed and repaint the walls.  there was one thing on my bedroom wish list that i've been lusting after some time now- linen bedding. the only downside? the cost. as a serial bedding buyer i couldn't really justify spending £100-200 on a full set when there was so much we still needed to get for the nursery.    the most affordable linen i could track down was from h&m at a more reasonable cost of £80. but before i could purchase them i found a better deal.. yeah you guessed it, ikea. they've recently introduced the puderviva ...

i love the feeling of starting over that a new year brings! even though i don't buy into the 'new year new me' mantra i do firmly believe it's a great opportunity to clear out unwanted items and get my life and home organised for the year ahead. sometimes all it takes is a few simple changes to have a really positive impact on your productivity. decluttering has always been key to me feeling happy and focused on achieving any goals i've set for the upcoming months. why not purge some of these things and see if it helps you along the way too..

nothing beats the smell of christmas -those nostalgic scents that remind me of the holiday season and the excitement of my childhood years. usually i'd just stock up on christmas candles but this year i'm trying something a little different... a festive simmer pot.

one of my favourite holiday traditions is setting the table at christmas, sitting down with family and friends is the most important part of any festive celebrations so i like it to be just right! i can't believe how quickly december has come around this year- do you feel the same?  i thought i'd play around with some simple styling for entertaining at home as it's a lot more fun than my christmas shopping list! it can be easy to get carried away when decorationg so i'm sharing some ideas to keep things nice and classic this year..

i've been meaning to share this post for what feels like forever! we finally finished up the bathroom reno and we're so happy with how it looks, it feels so shiny and clean (and totally worth the endless days of tiling and grouting!) our old bathroom was white so there isn't a huge difference in that respect but the square tiles around the bath were old and the grout was discoloured and falling out which looked pretty gross no matter how much i cleaned it!  have a look at the BEFORE:

well this weekend has flown by don't you think? (i've been meaning to put this post up since friday -yikes!) today i've been catching up on work but yesterday we managed to sneak a few hours to ourselves hunting for cute plants at garden centres and grabbing a bite to eat outside whilst the weather was nice! i've been feeling quite unmotivated lately so i've written up a mammoth to-do list which has totally inspired me to get back into the swing of thing this week. maybe just maybe i'll have a productive monday tomorrow...

happy friday guys! this week has flown by right? i guess the bank holiday has something to do with it, that and the fact i got sucked into rewatching all the games of thrones episodes (again.) i'm going to ireland this weekend and i can't wait to see my family! we're also going to see our wedding venue for the first time since we booked it and my parents are coming along too- i think that's when it will sink in that i should probably start planning stuff at some point, yikes.

i hadn't been to barcelona since i was 15 so revisiting it last month was like discovering it all over again! it's a beautiful city with plenty to explore making it a perfect long weekend destination. we went for 4 days this time round and i'd definitely recommend going just before peak season- the weather was gorgeous plus we didn't have to rush to beat the crowds- winner! i wanted to share a quick overview of my favourite experiences in case any of you guys were heading there too..
