what I wore: bambi + mohair

Hình ảnh
jumper: h&m bambi print skirt: c/o brat and suzie belt: american apparel ashleigh boots: topshop chunky gold necklace: topshop suzan backback: c/o la moda I love somethings about winter.. open fires, hot drinks, snuggling under my duvet.  attempting to take outfit pictures in rain, darkness or gale force winds urmm not quite so much aha! however today I woke up to sunny skies and beautiful weather..  yippee! mild weather means I'm snatching the last chance for bare legs.. my skirt is from east london duo brat and suzie who have the most adorable range of animal motif clothing (any combination of pencil skirt with bambi print is a winner in my book) they're bringing some exclusive pieces to ASOS soon so keep your eyes peeled! the pink fluffy number is an old h&m purchase that I love to pull out on in-between days as it's soft and cosy without feeling too bulky... I've worn my topshop backpack into the ground this summer so I was long overdue due an upgrade; th...

what I wore: a day in reykjavik:

Hình ảnh
hat: primark vintage levis jacket* brag vintage eagle sweater: urban outfitters leigh jeans: topshop backpack: topshop boots: office reykjavik is charming... and pretty chilly. every morning I'd layer up like the michelin man and head out to explore. it's quite a small place; the streets are full of little shops brimming with vintage clothes and hidden gems. it's so relaxed you find yourself wandering from street to street with no agenda other than to peek into doorways and hunt out the next quaint coffee shop to stock up on cake and caffeine. I found myself going for comfort every day.. skinny jeans, jumpers and hats (winter dressing at its easiest) I only opted to bring hand luggage so I was forced to plan what I was going to wear in advance (this meant I didn't spend every morning pulling out clothes debating wardrobe options much to the delight of the boy!) we spent our first day wandering around the city soaking up the atmosphere of the icelandic way of life: we st...

Hình ảnh
dungarees/overalls: primark bretton stripe tee: h&m bag: la moda watch: river island chains: h&m ring: urban outfitters the suitcase is unpacked and I'm an icelandic tourist no longer *sobs* since I'm returning to the task of finishing the house renovations it only seems right to don the painter and decorator attire of denim overalls (no builders bum though I have to draw the line somewhere...) these were a steal from primark and perfect longing attire! once I've caught up I'll pop up some pictures of my time away as I hugely recommend reykjavik as a city break- it's quaint, quirky and I've left a little piece of my heart there!  back soon caroline x shop the look:

what I wore: cocoon + check

cocoon check print dress : c/o front row shop pork pie hat: topshop double cuff: topshop pyramid ring: urban outfitters gold double chain ring: laura gravestock vintage cocktail ring : c/o rock 'n' rose perspex bag: klear klutch obsessed. yep that pretty much sums up my feeling towards my new dress. it's quite unlike anything else I own and is my favourite a/w piece so far. it also has the addition of pockets (always dear to my heart) and I love how understated it feels. the dress is from front row shop who have quite the selection of quirky clothing, I'm already building up quite a hefty wishlist! I'm really loving unusual cuts and details and their clothing has a wonderful scandinavian feel to it, big fan.  I've been rummaging through my accessories and one thing I will be investing in this month is a few more vintage style rings, I really don't have enough choice in my current stash so if you have any jewellery shop recommendations please let me know! to...

what I wore: black velvet

Hình ảnh
velvet world dress : c/o mee mee fedora: topshop backpack: topshop studded boots: old eeeeeep I finally have some velvet in my wardrobe! every season tartan and velvet seem to be a staple in autumn/winter trends and I massively regretted not investing in a velvet dress last season! this little number is from the new arrivals at meemee and it was velvet & sheer winner at first sight.. it had a hint of gothic fairytale but still looked wearable. I'm not a huge fan of big sheer panels but subtle ones get the thumbs up for me; I'll mostly wear this dress layered up with jumpers, tights and chunky boots so it'll be quite versatile this winter (no doubt It'll pop up on here again soon!)  I'm already looking forward to layering up again (and probably eating my way into hibernation) is that wrong? anyone else excited to whip out the knits? caroline x shop the look:

DIY chain strap cami top:

Hình ảnh
I thought I'd show you a really easy little DIY for those cami tops we've all been buying this summer! it's a simple update for strappy tops and perfect wear for nights out (it's so basic even the most sew-phobic can get involved!) here's how I made mine: the most important items are a simple cami top and a length of chain, the pliers are just used to open the chain links! cut the straps off your cami and lay them out flat; use your pliers to open the links on chain and cut into two equal lengths (use the original straps as a guide to the length) take a needle and thread and simply sew the chain lengths onto the cami where the original straps were; you're just replacing the fabric straps with chain ones! there you have it; a simple twist on a basic cami top!  what do you think? would you try this yourself? caroline x

what I wore: kimono + cut offs

Hình ảnh
hat: h&m floral kimono : c/o choies vintage belt: urban outfitters shorts: h&m cuff: topshop shoes: topshop oh lord I'm completely unprepared for the cold! I've been busy squeezing in the last of my summer outfits, you might have seen that I've been away in marbella on holiday (the perfect opportunity to drag out my summer wardrobe) but I'm still looking forward to the transition to knits and cosy coats! I haven't been all that tempted by the kimono trend this year but I finally found the one that made me change my mind.. hurrah! I loved the colour and pattern of this one from choies and I'm glad I opted for something different as I loved it on arrival, it's so damn pretty and swishy (yep definitely a word) it's made me a fully fledged kimono convert!  well I'm off to unpack my suitcase, bye bye bikinis hello 100 denier tights. back soon! caroline x come & say hi! bloglovin | twitter | facebook | instagram | pinterest   shop the look...

what I wore: embellished tee

Hình ảnh
retro beads embellished tee : c/o choices skirt: topshop shoes: h&m bag: vintage wowza I'm not sure what's gotten into me but I'm loving black again lately...  I spotted this embellished tee on choies and I knew instantly it was THE ONE! I love how simple it is and think it's a great option to wear with skinnies on casual days. I'm really into basic shapes at the moment which I put down to reading a lot of scandinavian blogs this month (they've totally inspired me to invest in a few well cut key pieces!)  if you've not been on choices it's definitely worth a browse; they have an eye watering array of tempting clothes and some beautiful footwear too. the skirt is an oldie from topshop; I wear it time and time again which proves that a simple pencil skirt is a good investment for me (or maybe it proves that I need some new skirts aha!) I opted for white accessories just for the hell of it, I guess black would have been the sensible choice but I wante...

what I wore: tartan essentials

Hình ảnh
tartan pencil skirt c/o   dorothy perkins tee: topshop belt: urban outfitters vanity case: vintage today I'm featuring a lovely little number from the new dorothy perkins style essentials range. I've always loved pencil skirts as they have such a gorgeous hourglass shape, plus they always make me feel taller, leaner and more feminine when I wear them.. win win! the style essentials range is a capsule collection that contains the ten key A/W pieces you'll need to update your wardrobe. think cute knits , bikers and furs  (but there's also pretty dresses and skirts like the one I'm wearing) I opted for this tartan cutie as it's such an easy way to jump on the A/W punk trend without being OTT!  I've dressed my skirt for a day out shopping but I could easily take it from day to night with heels and a silky cami, the whole collection is designed to be versatile and the prices start from £14 so they're affordable too (there's also 25% off online at the mi...
