hello weekend

happy weekend guys! we wanted to get away and spend some quality time with my family so i'm currently in ireland eating all the soda bread and enjoying the rain with my fave people. we don't have wifi or even much of a phone signal here so it's a good opportunity for a mini digital detox as i'm forced to cut back on the amount of time i'm online.. for a while anyway! hope you all have a wicked few days. here's some fun internet stuff: -  dead cute faux taxidermy knitting kits. - a big bunch of DIY inspo! - this guy tho. - i would like all of these pls. - some helpful tips for boosting your traffic. - counting down the new ikea stockholm collection (& that rattan cabinet!!) back soon caroline x

when pantone released greenery as their colour of the year i immediately thought of lush foliage and nature. for me it was a perfect choice as i like to bring the outdoors indoors (...yep it was basically another reason to buy more plants!) greenery is associated with renewal and rejuvenation making it a perfect spring/summer shade for 2017. as you know my home is very white, i love a minimal scandi look so painting my walls a zesty green isn't really an option! green isn't always the easiest colour to work with however i think the palette really can work when you look at introducing it in more subtle way. here are some simple ideas on how you could work with the trend in a modern home: accessories. soft furnishings are a great way to introduce colour into a neutral home. look for bright cushions or throws for chairs and beds to inject the theme into your existing decor with minimal effort. if you want to add smaller details consider vases, candles and ceramics for a subtle nod

i adore giving flowers, whether it's a special occasion or simply just to remind someone i'm thinking about them. with valentines creeping up i figured i'd share some simple ideas to wrap them as they're a super cute galentine gift option for your bff's! here are 4 easy ideas for transforming a plain old supermarket bouquet into a gift with a personal touch (for extra brownie points.) 1. DIY wrapping paper: jazz up some plain gift wrap by splattering it with with an old toothbrush dipped in black acrylic paint. in the above photo i've used white paper as i wanted a modern minimal look but it works really well on brown paper paper too. (just make sure it's dried before you wrap up your flowers!) to wrap the bouquet cut off a rectangle of paper and place the top of your bouquet in one corner. fold the opposite corner up over the stems then wrap the left side over the middle. fold the right side over and tie with string to finish! 2. mini bouquets: these are gr
