DIY easy modern wall art

Hình ảnh
i'm always drawn to bold graphic posters, they bring some much-needed colour and character to our bare white walls. however, when it comes to wall art no matter how much i buy i always seem to need more? i'm constantly trying to justify buying artwork but we recently splurged on a batch of new prints so i've reached my spending limit ... enter this DIY. these prints don't require any painting, drawing or printing, in fact the hardest part is picking a colour scheme. (i went pretty neutral, i'm a little in love with all the earthy tones i'm seeing all over pinterest right now.)  pop over to hunker to read how i made the cheapest, quickest and easiest wall art ever! i opted for a retro mid-century vibe, you can totally experiment with colour and shape to create your own totally unique designs. i'm super happy with how they turned out, they're a perfect addition to my growing wall art collection and they look really professional! let me know if you try maki...

our living room reveal

Hình ảnh
last time i showed you around my living room was back in 2015 .. and wow, things have definitely changed since then! i'm still a big fan of vintage and mid-century furniture but my style is now more influenced by scandinavian design. i guess this room is a mash-up of all of those influences but i've always liked mixing new and old so that's not much of a surprise! anyway, i've been itching to show you around how it looks now and share some of my favourite pieces! as we have a 1 yr old slowly taking over our home we weren't in the mood for a drastic renovation but with a repaint, a big reshuffle and the help of the wonderful west elm (aka the purveyors of dreamy mid-century furniture) who very kindly gifted us some pieces we've been able to create a living room that i want to hang in all day long. YAY! one of the biggest things that we needed to change was our old sofa, omg it was a sorry state. it was so stained from years of our muddy ...

DIY cane cabinet | IKEA hack

Hình ảnh
ok, so i'm fully obsessed with cane furniture, it haunts me with its gorgeousness but i basically can't justify the cost cause some of that stuff is EXPENSIVE!!! i wanted to make my own budget version of some the lovely cabinets i keep spying on sites like urban outfitters. if there was ever a piece of furniture crying out for an IKEA hack it has to be the ivar cabinet, it's beautiful in its simplicity.. those untreated wooden doors and those clean lines, ah yes we likey. i figured the doors could easily be modified to add in some cane panels and guess what .. i was bloody right, hurrah! head over to hunker to see the step by step for this  cane furniture hack  and let me know if you try making it too! are you loving cane furniture too? i have some more projects that I'll be using this  cane webbing on that i'll be sharing soon.. caroline x

DIY flower wall hanging

Hình ảnh
anyone else almost forget about valentines this year? (the only reason i twigged today was because gabe's due date was feb 14th!)  personally, i've always liked valentines, i think it's a cute holiday and i love an excuse to give gifts but i've always hated that some people find it a miserable day! who cares if you get flowers from someone? buy them for yourself, buy them for happiness, buy them for pleasure and hell, don't wait for feb 14th, it should be a weekly ritual (it is for me.)  i wanted to share a project i made a while back, it's a quick floral wall hanging that would be great for a little valentines get together (whether that be with a loved one or your fave gal pals.)  tbf it would work for so many events if you just switch up the flowers, white roses for baby showers, greenery for wedding etc. it's a really easy make and you can find the details on how to make this  floral display  for yourself over on hunker. have you guys...

DIY rope trinket bowls

Hình ảnh
I love storage DIY's, especially in the new year when I'm trying to get more organised and streamlined at home. This trinket bowl project is a great solution for storing smaller items like desk accessories, jewellery ..or in my case baby paraphernalia! Whether you decide to use the bowls in your entryway to stash car keys or your bedroom for your earings this easy project is just as pretty as it is practical. (Marie Kondo eat your heart out.) Most rope bowls are traditionally made using a sewing machine but I've teamed up with Gorilla to show you how to make your own no-sew rope bowl in a few simple steps!  You'll need: GORILLA SUPER GLUE GEL 10mm white cotton rope . (I've used a 10 ft length of rope which made two bowls.) Scissors Step 1. Shake the super glue gel well and apply a few drops of the glue to the ends to stop the rope from frying as you work.  Step 2. To start the base of the bowl run drops of super glue gel a few inches along the rope. T...
