i figured i'd start off the week with a super simple DIY. i love making soaps, they make great gifts and you get to melt stuff (which is always high on my agenda.) in the past i've generally stuck to novelty ones like this but today i'm sharing a more grown up version- detox charcoal soap!

i love buying art prints but after a while i realised i wasn't really buying pictures with any intention. i tended to buy things that were cheaper to scratch the itch and fill empty frames rather than investing in prints or art that cost a little more but i'd be happier with in the long run.  we recently repainted the living room and took down the 2 gallery walls. i've decided to replace them with a few larger prints that i'm much happier with. i also decided to keep to more of a minimal look rather than a mix of colours and styles that didn't really work together.  adding prints is such an easy way to add personality and style into your space so i thought i'd share some of my favourite places to look for them. playtype. playtype have a beautiful range of typography and modern posters that are perfect for anyone hunting for a minimal scandi space. love, love, love. grandpa. they have a nice range of posters as well as the sexiest collection of swedish home acces...

as christmas is only a few days away this is officially the last of my festive DIY's!  these minimal wooden trees are perfect for a modern home. the inspiration came from a novelty cardboard christmas tree i picked up in ikea, it was bright green and made everyone laugh but i liked the simplicity of slotting pieces together to create a basic tree shape. (plus you can fold the pieces flat to store away for next year, perfect for people who don't have much storage space.) you can find the tutorial over on ehow right now, hope you try them! have a wonderful christmas, back soon caroline x

this is a perfect last minute DIY.. cause they take no time to make, hurrah. i love the idea of a more natural and laid back approach to festive decor and these simple baubles add a really lovely element to your tree or hanging displays. (you could even try making mini ones to use as gift toppers... cute overload!) 1. to make your own you simply need to grab some fillable baubles  and some fresh foliage! 2. open your baubles, cut off some foliage, berries or branches and pop them inside. 3. thread some string through the top to hang. told you it was an easy one.. hope you get a chance to make some! back soon caroline x

i like to stash all my presents until christmas eve when i wrap them in a frenzy of paper, ribbon and general excitement! if you haven't wrapped yours either this little DIY is a perfect last minute addition to make your gift wrapping next level uh-mazing.  this isn't just a festive DIY you can make these bad boys all year round for birthdays or weddings. you can also stamp anything you like on them so they're totally customisable.. pretty neat huh? i think what i love most is how simple they are. i love clean and minimal wrap and these work perfectly with my black/white/kraft paper selection! it's no secret sleep is important. a bad nights sleep has a negative impact on my mood and ability to function, whereas a good nights sleep basically makes me a happier and healthier human, win. the run up to christmas is usually quite a stressful and busy time for me both professionally and personally so when i was offered a new mattress by sleepbear * to test it was a huge no brainer. i mean a new mattress is exciting right.. but it was also a great opportunity to try and get into a healthier sleep routine. sometimes i sleep really well but i have periods where my sleep is incredibly restless, i was more than a little curious to see if there was any difference after changing what i slept on. after many years of use our current mattress had started to dip and even though it was lovely and soft it wasn't really supportive to sleep on so i was eager to try something different. the sleepbear mattress has a nifty 3 layer combo- a pure latex top layer for comfort and bounce, respon...
